2006/2007 Season

We done it again (made history)

The Eccles Sunday League under 21’s team won the Greater Manchester Inter League Competition final for a record fourth time in a row. The under 21’s beat the Rochdale leagues team  3-2.

Eccles raced into a 3-0 lead with goals by Richard Dunn, a deflected free kick.  A fine solo effort by Latham Forrester and a well worked goal and a good finish by Lee McNally. With the score 3-0 at half time it looked all over for Rochdale but they kept going and going which made it a close finish.

The management team of  Kevin Wright, Gary Fellows, Ron Hodkin and Duncan Beaumont would like to thank the lads on yet another tremendous win.

2005/2006 Season

The under 21’s made history

The under 21’s made history by winning the Inter league final for the third time consecutively, an achievement never made before by any other league.

In a very hard game, the score remained 0-0 at half time.  In the 50th minute Eccles won a penalty that was successfully scored by Matty Burke.  With 10 minutes to go, flowing a great move down the right, Ollie Butcher scored with a good finish, leaving the final result 2-0.  The lads should be very proud of themselves!

Manager Kevin Wright would like to thank all the lads and back room staff, Gaz Fellows, Ron Hodkin, Duncan Beaumont and Buzz.  Many thanks and well done.
